Small but mighty the king of the dogs.

Min Pins are lap dogsyou’ll find thier weight to be in the 7- to 15-pound range; these dogs are food driven. They are popular because they require less living space and, for some, have a personality that’s much larger than the dog. Before you commit to owning any dog for that matter – make sure you research the special characteristics that define the breed standard.

Here are some general traits associated with our dogs to get you started.

Small breeds are portable.
Smaller crates, smaller carriers and smaller necessities to bring along. Small-breed dogs are easy to take on airplanes, to hotels or on car rides.

Small breeds work well in limited space (most of the time).
Short legs may not need a big backyard, but small-breed dogs do need some exercise. Terriers, especially, can be little fireballs of energy. It’s important to research the breed you’re interested in to make sure its energy requirements match up with your lifestyle.
Min pins are high energy.
they are also good alert dogs.
They may look small, but many small dogs have a big bark. This is a bonus to families who want a smaller watchdog, but can be a drawback to those who want some peace and quiet.

Small breeds like older children.
Because of their size, small breeds are more fragile than their larger counterparts. For this reason, younger children should always be supervised around a small-breed dog or paired up with a larger, sturdier dog that’s more tolerant of rough handling.

Small breeds benefit from obedience school.
Owners of small dogs tend to spoil them, and a smart dog can quickly figure out how to manipulate its way into treats or playtime. It’s important to teach your small-breed dog basic obedience commands so he doesn’t take over your house.
